Drosera regia
Known as the King Sundew for a reason, this species can produce very large narrow spear shaped leaves over 50cm in length. More challenging to grow than most other sundews, D. regia requires fertiliser to grow well if it is not left outside to catch insects. D. regia also does not like getting too hot, especially it's roots so I recommend making sure you have ways to keep it cooler if you experience days over 30 degrees constantly during summer.
This species can die back and go dormant if your conditions are quite cold over winter. I have found here on the Sunshine Coast, they tend to slow down but not go dormant. Dormancy doesn't appear to be necessary for the plants survival.
First three photos show actual plant for sale. Remaining photos show mother plants. Plant will be sent in it's pot, however it is recommended to re-pot soon after arrival to allow the plant to grow bigger.
